What is fiction but a dream of another world? Even in the most true-to-life stories, there is something fundamentally unreal about them. This is the convention of the form. You make something up, then it only exists on the page, on the screen, or the stage. Science fiction is just another form of this kind of unreality, just exploited to the max.

But some science fiction is weirdly true to life. Ever watched The Truman Show- a movie about a man whose entire life was a reality TV experiment?
